Popsicles and Play is about taking a multi-faceted learning approach to cultivate healthy development in young children, through specially curated activities and workshops which are hands-on, experiential and play-based.
Play is more than just fun for babies and young children, it's an essential way of learning and developing for them. Play helps your child to build confidence; develop fine and gross motor skills; develop socio-emotional skills, communication, language and cognitive abilities; and offers an ideal opportunity for parents to fully engage with their children.
”Play builds the kind of free-and-easy, try-it-out, do-it-yourself character that our future needs.” - James L. Hymes, Jr
In today's world, child-centered play has been very much reduced or de-prioritized, with the hurried pace of lifestyle, increased attention to academics and grades (children as young as 5 are being graded on spelling), and technology at your easy disposal (electronics are being introduced to children at too early an age as "babysitters").
The importance of play in promoting healthy child development and maintaining strong parent-child bonds has been undermined through all these factors.
Our vision is to bring back play as an important and essential element of your child's life, and to enable strengthened parent-child bonds through play.
We strongly advocate 100% child-led learning which is both play-based and experiential; and 100% child-led free play. We believe every child is an independent being who is capable of learning and developing at his/her own pace through play.
”Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning.” - Fred Rogers
